		<Abstract>&quot;Simple ignorance&quot; is an intellectual phenomenon that’s opposite of &quot;knowledge&quot; and foe the requirement mens rea in most crimes within various legal systems and on the other hand, is opposite of &quot;double ignorance&quot; that emerges efficacious and specific view from psychic status in defendantr’s responsibility.
This article has an intention to present new and punctual  comparative study of defendant’s simple ignorance and its effects in shi&#039;a jurisprudence, Iranian law and American law.
