Article Submission Guidelines for Peer Review

As of April 20, 2012, all manuscripts must be submitted online (Online Submission).

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the Author Guidelines provided on the website of the Quarterly Journal of Private Law Studies and uploaded along with the completed Commitment Form. Submissions that do not follow the specified format will not undergo initial review.

Please observe the following instructions:

ORCID Requirement

All authors are required to have an ORCID ID. Registration is available at: https://orcid.org/

Submission Steps

  1. User Registration:
Click on "Author Registration" on the right side of the page.
Academic authors must specify their exact academic rank (e.g., Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor); the term “faculty member” alone is not sufficient.
After completing the registration and receiving your username and password, you may submit your manuscript.
Faculty members should also indicate whether they are willing to act as reviewers by selecting the appropriate option in the “Settings” section after logging in.
  2. Username and Password:
To submit a manuscript, your username (email) and password are required.
If you forget your password, click on "Submit Article / Member Login" on the right side of the homepage, then select “Cannot access the system,” enter your email, and choose “Reset Password.”
An activation link will be emailed to you. After clicking the link, a new password will be sent. You may change this password from the "Settings" section after logging in.
  3. How to Upload Your Manuscript:
Click “Submit Article / Member Login” and log in. Then upload the following files:
  • The main manuscript in Word format (labeled: Main Article)
  • A separate Word file with author information (labeled: Author Details)
  • The signed Commitment Form (labeled: Supplementary File)
  • The Conflict of Interest Form (also labeled: Supplementary File)

Do not upload tables, figures, cover letters, or PDF files as separate files.
The main file must be in Word format, and must not include authors’ names or affiliations in either the file name or the manuscript text.

If uploaded correctly, your manuscript will appear under the “Manuscripts Under Review” section. If not, it will be listed under “Incomplete Manuscripts” and will not be visible to the editorial assistant, meaning it has not been submitted for review.

Ensure the article is submitted to the correct journal. Submitting to the wrong journal will cause delays.

Checklist before Uploading:

  • Only one file labeled Main Article should be uploaded.
  • The manuscript must not contain any identifying author details.
  • Supplementary files will not be shown to reviewers.

You must log in as an Author to submit your manuscript.

  1. Initial Screening by Editorial Assistant:
Once submitted, the article will first be reviewed by the journal assistant for format and compliance.
It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure adherence to the formatting guidelines outlined on the website. Due to high submission volume, detailed feedback cannot be provided at this stage. Non-compliant articles may remain indefinitely in the initial review phase.
We strongly encourage authors to download and study a recently published article as a model — with the exception that names and author details should be removed from your manuscript.

Important: Each article must be submitted only once using a unique tracking code.
Revised versions must be uploaded under the same tracking code. Do not submit a revised article as a new submission. New submissions receive a new tracking code and must undergo the initial screening again.
Do not send manuscripts via email to the editor or editorial staff.

  1. Tracking the Article:
To follow the progress of your submission, click on the "History" option in the “Operations” section of your dashboard.
Once the manuscript passes the initial screening, it will be forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief for further evaluation. All updates will be available via the History section.

If the author is uncertain about the suitability of their manuscript topic, they are advised to email the title to the editorial assistant for confirmation before submission.

Common Mistakes in Submitted Manuscripts

  • Duplicate Submissions:
Authors often mistakenly upload the same manuscript multiple times, resulting in multiple tracking codes. This is not acceptable. Each manuscript should only be submitted once. In case of multiple submissions, authors must formally withdraw all redundant submissions, and only one manuscript (with a single tracking code) should proceed to review.
  • Incorrect Referencing Format:
In many cases, references in the manuscript do not conform to the journal’s citation style. Authors are advised to download and consult a published article from the journal’s website as a formatting guide.
  • Incorrect Journal Selection:
Authors sometimes mistakenly select the wrong journal title during submission, leading to submission to an unintended journal. Please ensure that the correct journal is selected at the time of submission.
  • English Keywords:
English keywords must be precise equivalents of the Persian keywords and listed in alphabetical order under the English abstract. Use A to Z ordering.

 Important Notice:
Authors are strictly requested not to contact the editor-in-chief or editorial board members via email, in person, or through faculty members or students to follow up on the status of their submissions.
