THE ROLE OF ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY IN THE DESIGN OF JUDICIAL ENVIRONMENT AND COURTHOUSE

Abstract

Justice is the main principal of a court. In fact, the court, where is supposed to get somebody’s right, should be treated fairly. Therefore, the space of a court should be also designed based on justice. That is, spaces should be designed in a way to give users the best performance and psychological responses. This study has a qualitative process and descriptive aim in the past with the present application, which is formed by inductive logic. To understand the effect of environmental psychology on the judicial spaces 50 cases were studied and a questioner was developed in order to develop the architecture of environmental psychology and also to reduce the stressful factors in a stressful environment like a court. In this regard, some psychologists, lawyers, and architects were asked to response the questioners. After the preparation and implementation of a statistical sample, conclusions were formulated in line with the goal.
