copyright

Copyright policies define the rights retained by the authors and the permissions granted to the publisher and the public. PQ ensures that the author’s fundamental rights are protected while enabling broad use and knowledge dissemination.

Author Copyright Retention

Authors retain unrestricted copyrights and publishing rights for their work published in PQ. This contrasts with models that require authors to transfer full copyright to the publisher.

Licensing for Use

All content is published under the CC BY 4.0. license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.en). The Creative Commons Attribution license permits the public to share and adapt the work, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the journal.

Permissions for Third-Party Material

If a manuscript includes material (such as figures, tables, illustrations, or text passages) that has already been published elsewhere or created by a third party, authors are required to obtain written permission from the copyright holder(s) for both print and online formats before submission.

Authors must ensure that the necessary rights are cleared:

  • Non-exclusive rights to reproduce the material in the article.
  • Print and electronic rights.
  • Worldwide English-language rights.
  • The right to use the material for the life of the work (meaning no time restrictions on reuse).

Attribution and Credit: Proper acknowledgment of all third-party material must be included in the article. If the article is published open access, and it contains material for which the authors do not have Open Access re-use permissions, this must be stated clearly using a specific credit line detailing the original publication and noting that the content is not covered by the terms of the Creative Commons license of the article. If the third-party material is published under a CC license (like CC BY 4.0. license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.en)), PQ, as a scholarly publisher, generally requires explicit permission or negotiation for its reuse.

Consequences of Failure to Obtain Permission: Any material received without clear evidence of permission will be presumed to originate from the authors. Failure to obtain required permissions for copyrighted works can lead to significant delays in publication or the removal of the content from the published work.

Digital Archiving & Preservation

To ensure long-term preservation and permanent access to scholarly content, all published articles in this journal are digitally archived in the institutional archive of University of Tehran and National Library of Iran. This commitment to digital curation guarantees that the journal’s research legacy is protected against technological obsolescence, providing researchers and libraries with uninterrupted access to the final version of record for years to come.
